Lee Valley Is Now Carrying Our Instar Native Bee Home

After a summer of testing with the product folks at Lee Valley, we're happy to announce that our Instar solitary bee home is now available for sale on their website: Solitary Bee Home They are currently only carrying it in blue with the standard nesting blocks, so if you'd prefer another color, with viewing windows, or would like to order a garden stand, you can order directly from us on our website.

We're starting with online sales only, and it will be included in their upcoming spring catalog. As we start to increase our production, we hope to roll it out to all of their in-person stores as well. 

This is a big step for us. When we designed these bee homes, our focus was on quality, craftsmanship and getting the details right so that they would be great for bees. Making them "easy" to build was not a consideration, and it wasn't clear if we'd ever be able to supply a major retailer given that fact. In the last year, we've worked relentlessly on a process that allows us to make them in small batches to accomplish this, and we really hope this is the start of having our homes how up in retailers all across North America.
