Can't wait for spring!

I bought this as a gift for my grandchildren who are in love with nature and native bees in particular. I'm hoping this will peak their curiosity even more as they hopefully will be able to observe them even closer. Future gifts will entail native bee posters and field guides. I usually try to give gifts that help them to connect with nature and if this works out, I will be ordering more for other grandchildren! Thank you for making these available and at reasonable prices for the craftsmanship.

Can't wait!

Can't wait to install my bee home. It's going to our cottage this spring so I can't comment on its acceptance by the bees yet but it's beautifully built and I am looking forward to success!

Very happy

The best company I’ve worked with in a while. They texted me to let me know about my order and were very personal. This was a birthday gift for my grandson who turned 36 in December. Unfortunately our ground is frozen in Ohio so we can’t put it up till spring. But we were real happy with the delivery and have plans in the spring to put it up and plant some wild flowers and other plants to make the bees as happy as we are with our bee house.

Excellent in every respect!

The website is exceptional--clear, informative, easy to navigate. The product seems very well made (not yet installed), and is a great gift idea for anyone, especially a family with children, who will be able to observe the bees! Ryan's kiosk at a local craft show was impressive, complete with video. Scopa is a well-researched and conceived business venture, in step with the times. Kudos to Ryan and his team!

Thank you for all the kind words! It was really great meeting you as well!

Perfect Bee Home for Supporting Native Bees Responsibly!

It’s the only one we found that truly follows best practices for native bees, prioritizing their health and well-being. The thoughtful design helps prevent the spread of disease and parasites, which is crucial for supporting native bee populations. I love that it’s reusable year after year without turning into a hub for disease, thanks to its smart, easy-to-clean construction.

The viewing blocks are a fantastic addition—they’re perfect for education and engagement. Being able to observe the bees’ life cycle up close is not only fascinating but also a wonderful way to spark interest and awareness about these important pollinators. Highly recommend this bee home for anyone serious about supporting native bees in a sustainable and responsible way!

So glad that you reached out to us, Ilan! It's been really great working with you and your team!

Sharing Nature with Grandson

I learned about Scopa wild bee homes while listening to the Joe Gardener podcast last summer. His guest that day was Scopa co-founder, Dr. Jessica Forrest. I had already been interested in changing my gardening practices to consider the needs of wildlife. But after hearing Dr. Forrest talk about the importance of providing habitat for native bees I wanted to do what I could to help out. I also had another motivation; to encourage my grandson to appreciate the wildlife around us.

Ever since my grandson could walk we would explore nature in my yard. With wonder, we would watch spiders waiting in webs, worms crawl through our fingers and bees tending the lavender patch. Then, when he was about 3 years old there was a shift. Somehow he had learned to be afraid of insects. He stopped wanting to hold worms, he would smash most crawling insects, and he ran from bees. I needed some tools to help him through his fears and appreciate wildlife.

So, immediately after hearing Dr. Forrest's interview, I ordered the Pupa model bee house (with 8 chambers). I selected the the option with the see-through bee blocks so we could observe the nesting in action. I also ordered the garden stand so I could set it in the midst of the flowering plants in my yard.

When it arrived I was pleasantly surprised at how well it was made and how easy it was to set up. My grandson opened each and every bee block as I described what they were for. Then, we set it up and are awaiting our first occupant. It stands about 3 feet... perfect for a 4-year old to observe while standing nearby.

My thanks also goes to Ryan Brideau (the other Scopa cofounder) for contacting me about a month after purchase to see how it was going and to offer support with my new bee home. I told him that no bees have shown up yet but it was autumn when I installed it so I didn't expect any. He looked up my location and told me what to species to expect and when bees would start arriving. He also encouraged me to check in over time if I have questions... Which, I will do!

Thank you!

It is well built but I won’t put it up until our spring because we get some freezing days.

Thank you for the reivew, Janet! Keep us posted once you have it up - always love seeing photos of who moves in.

Beautiful, and it's working!

I was so happy to mount my blue bee house on the pergola on my deck. It looks so good! Best of all, we put it up one evening and already by the next day there were bees checking it out and going in and out of the cavities. Now I'm thinking I need a whole set...

Thanks so much, Kat! You must have a great garden to get so much attention so quickly!

Heirloom Wild Bee Home – Scopa

We installed our bee house in the middle of one of our flower beds and it only took a few weeks for bees to find it and settle in.
The bee house is a true work of craftsmanship, it is a lovely addition to any garden.
Ryan is amazingly knowledgeable about his bees, it was such a pleasure dealing with him.
Service was excellent!

Heirloom Wild Bee Home – Scopa

I stumbled upon these on FB and quickly ordered two of these for my cottage in Lanark. The turnaround was quick and Ryan kept me out of date. They are SO well constructed and worth every penny.

I ordered them unfinished so that the kids could paint them and have them as their own little environmental project.

The booklet enclosed was very informative as well.

Really happy with them! These will probably become a treasured family “artifact”, much like our bat house has become.

Kudos to Scopa!

Heirloom Wild Bee Home – Scopa

Ryan went above and beyond to make sure that the bee home will last for generations, which is something you don't often see nowadays. I have received a perfect little bee home for my balcony along with enough information to help me set it up (best location, orientation, etc). Setting up the bee home was as easy as it could get. I've got some wild flowers and now waiting for the little solitary bees to come and decide to settle down. Really looking forward to the summer and many summers to come!
